Catching up

It has been forever since I posted.  After I found out I was pregnant with Ivy I was a little overwhelmed with the idea of life  as a mom of four and all the craziness a new baby brings.  I feel a little foolish for being so afraid.  It has been really good having her here.  It feels as though she has always been here and life is good.  Now that I am feeling in control again, I can catch up.  Instead of writing really lengthy posts about the last six months (again an overwhelming thought), I am just going to do highlights of each month with a few pictures.  Once I am current I can be more detailed!

Keep in mind, I have a newborn who controls my schedule so I will do what I can when I can ;)

June
In June, I went to San Francisco for a weekend with Hannah and Halley.  We had a blast.  The girls had never been there and it had been awhile for me.  It was a lot of fun to be with such young girls!  I had forgotten how to be silly and carefree. I wasn't very good at it. I guess that's a sign that I am old. We took a tour of Alcatraz, visited the Golden Gate Bridge, walked Fisherman's Wharf and we saw Wicked.  We also ate at some really good places and just had a blast being sisters!

Corey and I took the kids to Dineyland for a weekend.  We had a great time, as usual. It truly is a magical place. We stayed at a closer hotel than we usually do.  It was great to be within five minutes of the entrance.  I don't think we will stay far away ever again!

Coming off of the Tower of Terror, Sayer's favorite ride, he found a hundred dollar bill on the ground and was super excited!

July

In July, Sayer turned 5!  He is getting so big.  It's amazing how fast they grow.  He had his birthday party at Pump it Up.  The kids really like having their parties there and I don't have to do anything but show up and pay for it, so I don't mind either.

Every July, the kids and I make a trip to Minnesota to visit the Bibro's for a week.  This year was no exception.  Halley got to come with us and that was a lot of fun.  I enjoyed having help on the flights and while we were there.  We always have such a good time when we visit them.  The kids went to VBS like they do every year.  Next year all of the kids, except baby Ivy will go.  We like the two hours of freedom each night.  Plus it's free. You can't beat that!

We do so much while we are there.  We went to a lake or two, went on a trail hike, swam in the backyard, had a lemonade stand, went to the zoo, made s'mores with a fire pit in the driveway, and best of all, played with our best friends until we were completely worn out every night.

August

In August, school starts for the kids.  Cora started second grade.  Sayer started kindergarten.  Renner started preschool.  They are all becoming such big kids...

Francie and Chris came to visit this month too.  We got to stay at their timeshare with them for a couple nights and enjoy the pool and their company.  We really do enjoy seeing them.  We just don't get to do it very often.

I think I am going to stop there for now... Ivy is sleeping and I should head to bed before I lose out on my sleep time!

To be continued...
