Thanksgiving weekend

We had Thanksgiving at my house this year.  I think it worked out okay.  Mom really liked having it at her house but we have a lot of kids and it just made sense to do it at place with more toys and a yard.  She still did most of the work.  I just had the location.  It was a good day.  We had close to 25 people show up.  Tiesha and her family had Thanksgiving at their house with Lee's family.  Natalie and her family are up in Idaho.  We missed having all of them with us but understand we have to share.  If they had all come our numbers would have been up to 40!  That is nuts. And, our family is still growing.  Tiesha is having a baby in the spring and four of our siblings have yet to have children!    We had SO much food.  There were four, yes 4, turkeys and every side dish you can imagine.  I think we had six pies too!  Needless to say we have lots of leftovers and lots of turkey soup!

After Thanksgiving was done at our house, we headed over to my aunt's house to see all the Adams relatives.  We only see them twice a year so it is fun to go.  This year my Aunt Brenda had a couple notebooks set out all on the history of my grandparents.  There was a lot of really interesting information in there and it was fun to see the old pictures.  It makes me think I really need to keep a journal or scrapbooks or something so in fifty or more years my grand children and great grandchildren can read all about my nutty life.  It's something to strive for, and goals are good, right?

Friday I took my sisters, a couple of their friends and my kids rock climbing.  Hannah, Summer and I were just there to belay the kids.  Halley and Charlie were climbing too.

It was way fun.  I thought Cora might be scared and throw one of her ultra dramatic girlie fits, but she surprised me.  The monkey in her took over and she climbed!

High! She started out going up a little and then coming down. Next thing I know she is at the top hanging from the bar!

Sayer did really good too.  That didn't really surprise me.  He climbs anything he can.  He made it about three fourths of the way up the wall on his best climb. I thought that was good for such a little man on his first climbing day ever!

Renner tried to climb twice and made it about eight feet off the ground.  Not too bad.  He was tired and decided he would rather go take a nap so Auntie Hannah took him to Grandpa's house while we finished up.

We were there for two hours.  The kids climbed non-stop for at least an hour and a half!  I can't wait to take them again.  I might even try to climb one of these times too.  I think the best part was the rock gym only charged me five bucks a kid because they were all under 7!  Once they hit 7 they jump to thirteen bucks!  I was pleasantly surprised!
